RECRUITING
Before we begin the recruiting process DLS Event Services will work to understand the goals and needs of your project. We work with individuals involved in planning and administering your event prior to beginning the recruiting process. Understanding the needs of the project helps us define what type of person will make a great employee for your event.
Establishing a pool of candidates is a process that takes time and dedication. DLS Event Services will review the demographics of the area as well as interview local business owners and other members of each community to help identify where we might find the best people to represent your organization. By involving the community in the process we are able to increase our pool of qualified candidates.
SCREENING
Trust and dependability are critical when choosing the people who will represent your organization. Once candidates are identified they will be asked to attend one of several interview dates. At the beginning of the screening process, DLS Event Services invites personnel from your organization to be included in the first few interviews. Including your personnel in the first few interviews helps us understand what your organization values and what they feel is an ideal person for their staff. Once we have a full understanding of what is important to each organization we can tailor our interview process and find the people who fit the organization.
TRAINING
Once we have identified the initial staff for your organization, DLS Event Services will provide on-site training. All employees receive a customized DLS Events Customer Service manual as well as on-site training prior to the event. This training will help employees understand the scope of the event and helps them familiarize themselves with the facilities and their surroundings. It also offers an opportunity for us to outline customer service expectations. DLS Event Services works with the idea that you can have fun and still take care of the needs of each participant/customer that attends your event.
The entire staff will tour the facility and understand where sections and amenities are located during the event and will then be trained by department on the duties and responsibilities of their particular position. Training does not stop with the initial orientation, it continues throughout the project. Some employees may be cross-trained in order to maximize the efficiency of the staff. Customer service resources will also be available on www.dlsevents.net going training will be handled by an on-site manager. This on-site manager will be a trained customer service expert and will continue to train the staff until the project is completed.
ON-SITE MANAGEMENT
DLS Event Services offers on-site management for any event. An on-site manager may be responsible for scheduling, training and evaluating the staff. The manager will work closely with your personnel to establish staffing needs. If a rainy afternoon will affect the crowd numbers, one phone call to the on-site manager is all that is needed to decrease the staffing numbers, saving time and money.
The goal of many events is to create an atmosphere that is fun and exciting for all participants. The staff of your organization is a key component in creating that environment. The on-site manager is responsible for making sure the staff stays positive, has fun and is efficient. The on-site manager can take the time to ensure people get breaks and can resolve disputes between the staff. Although these duties seem minor, they can easily be neglected, and when they are not taken care of, they can result in major problems for your staff. The on-site manager will take responsibility for the staff and work to make sure they are offering the best possible service throughout the course of the entire project.
HUMAN RESOURCES
Paychecks, taxes, W-2’s, insurance, are all processes that take time, effort and money.
DLS Event Services has the resources and personnel to handle all the human resources needed for your staff. This service alone can save office staff time or eliminate the need for a position all together.
DLS Event Services will understand at the beginning of the project how you would like to track staffing expenses for your organization. Often organizations will break down their staffing needs by area. DLS Event Services can provide detailed invoices that will show how much money is being spent in each area. At the end of a pay period, your organization issues one check to DLS Event Services. Not having to deal with paycheck adjustments, workers comp claims or W-2s can free up your personnel to sell tickets, handle customer calls and work on future projects.
